Things to see and do in Edinburgh –
If you are aware of the work of literary writer Sir Walter Scott, visit the Scott Monument, which was built upon the ideas of George Kemp who won the competition set out for design ideas for the monument. It is about 200 feet high and can be climbed to admire the impressive architecture as well as the beautiful view of the city from the structure that seems to touch the sky.
The Museum of Childhood specialises in the history of childhood. It hosts many exhibitions and events and there is always something going on in addition to the displays of children’s toys and games from the world over. You can also discover some of the street fames played by children in Edinburgh from a time as old as the 1950s. Queen Mary’s Bath House is an unusual building, thought to be shaped as a bath, located in the east of Edinburgh. It is thought to have been a pavilion, associated with Mary, the queen of Scots. While the building was being repaired in the 18th century, a flamboyant dagger was found on its pyramid shaped roof. It is always a quirky place to visit, especially for photography purposes.
